An LNG platform at sea with visible scaffolding

Gorgon LNG Construction

Initially contracted to the Gorgon LNG construction project in 2012, consistent high-quality work saw the scope and APS site team continuously grow from a small team to 40+ staff, and then 100+ tradesmen and rope access personnel in the latter part of the project. The complexity of the scope required our workforce to include riggersscaffoldersboilermakers, and electricians all of whom provided a wide range of specialist services.

Working closely with tier one O&G contractors such as Downer, the APS staff provided safe, time and cost-effective solutions to support the complex construction activities being carried out, delivering our scopes with an outstanding safety record.

Vertech Group, (which APS became part of in 2020) was also providing 100+ inspectors and tradesmen over a 4-year term, meaning our group provided over 200+ people to support the successful delivery of this LNG megaproject.

The Gorgon LNG facility on Barrow Island is located approximately 60km off the Western Australian mainland. The Chevron Australia operated asset was one of the world’s largest LNG construction projects at the time, with an investment quoted to be around $54 billion.
