Energy is one of the most basic requirements in today’s world, and our dependence on electrical energy is continuing to grow year on year. Through advancements in technology and our enhanced understanding of our impact on the planet, there is a global movement towards renewable energy resources to reduce our impact on the environment and make our energy consumption sustainable.
APS is passionate about being at the forefront of this global movement and has positioned itself nationally to provide high-quality support to the key renewable energy sources of the future. The APS service lines and specialisations are particularly suited to wind farms (onshore and offshore), hydroelectric plants, geothermal plants, hydrogen plants and biomass plants.
APS provides a suite of specialist services to support the construction of these facilities, routine maintenance, and repair. When combined with our group’s inspection, robotics, and NDT capabilities, APS’s core services (engineering, mechanical, rigging, and specialist access) provide significant cost, time, and resource benefits to renewable projects across Australia and wider the Asia Pacific region.
WIND FARM CONSTRUCTION
APS is passionate about being at the forefront of the renewable energy global movement. As such, it has positioned itself across Australia and New Zealand through our sister companies Vertech NZ and Abseil Access to provide high-quality support to the construction and erection of wind farms. Our services include:
WIND FARM MAINTENANCE & REPAIR
It surprises many that wind turbines require so much ongoing maintenance to ensure the longevity of the turbine and optimal power generation. APS provides a suite of specialist services to support the inspection, maintenance and repair of the tower, hub, nacelle and blades.
When combined with our group’s inspection, robotic and NDT capabilities, APS's core services (engineering, mechanical, rigging and specialist access) provide significant cost, time, and resource benefits to turbine maintenance across Australia and New Zealand.
HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS
Hydroelectric power is a major source of renewable energy in Australia, with the country housing more than 120 operating power stations. In 2019, these stations generated approximately 25% of clean electricity in Australia, equating to 6.2% of the country’s overall electricity that year.
Australia’s hydropower resources are predominantly found in New South Wales, Tasmania, and Victoria, but our group has also worked on 17 Trustpower hydroelectric plants around New Zealand. Our services and experience include:
